Why Viacom CBS must and will apologize to the American people
	CBS News/60 Minutes insulted the American people memorably on January 28, 2003. Quoted in the Los Angeles Times, Don Hewitt assaulted the American people thusly: “You get paid for what the great unwashed American public likes. You get paid for making contact with a world [the American people] that you may not be in sync with in your day-to-day life.” These two sentences total 31 words. Talk about better to be governed by the first 5,000 names in the Boston telephone directory than by the faculty of Harvard University. It gets worse: 99% of the anchors, reporters and news executives agree with Don Hewitt about what they call Flyover Country. Taliban II Country. The contemptuous Mr. Hewitt and his colleagues at CBS and 60 Minutes are wading around in blood up to their elbows, blood that would not have been spilled had CBS News and 60 Minutes been doing its job. Mr. Hewitt’s world is a world in which the mass murder of millions of Protestant and Catholic women, children, babies, pregnant women, the elderly and men in Sudan - one sixth of the murdered Christians being children, one third of the murdered Christians being children and young people - is a non-event about a non-people. One-third of the Christian population of all-Christian East Timor is murdered in a systemic genocide.
