New York Times’
columnist Nicholas D. Kristof’s May 29, 2004 column makes the following
points about Sudan:
1. George Bush may have
saved the lives of hundreds of thousands of Christians by his efforts in
Sudan.
(Alas, the good Mr. Kristof shares the national media fear and dread of
using the much dreaded “C” word).
2. Currently in the Darfur region, where the genocide (Mr. Kristof’s
word) is of black Africans because they are black Africans:
” Eighty percent of the children are malnourished, there are no toilets,
and girls are taken away each night by the guards to be raped.
As inmates starve, food aid is diverted by guards to feed their
camels.”
“Free the children of the concentration camps,” exhorts Mr. Kristof.
This seems to be an excellent idea, in our view, as ever on our part,
not seeking to force our views on others.
3.
Notes Mr. Kristof, “"The team members, all of whom are experienced
experts in humanitarian affairs, were visibly shaken," the report
declares. It describes "a strategy of systematic and deliberate
starvation being enforced by the GoS [government of Sudan] and its
security forces on the ground.") Read the 11-page report at
www.nytimes.com/kristofresponds, Posting 426
Demographers at the U.S. Agency for International Development estimate
that at best, "only" 100,000 people will die in Darfur this year of
malnutrition and disease. If things go badly, half a million will die.
This
is not a natural famine, but a deliberate effort to eliminate three
African tribes in Darfur so Arabs can take their land.
The Genocide Convention defines such behavior as genocide, and it
obliges nations to act to stop it. That is why nobody in the West
wants to talk about Darfur — because of a fear that focusing on the
horror will lead to a deployment in Sudan.”
4. “But it's not a
question of sending troops, but of applying pressure — the same kind
that succeeded in getting Sudan to the north-south peace agreement. If
Mr. Bush would step up to the cameras and denounce this genocide,…”
Mr. Kristof’s advice and plea make sense except that CBS, NBC, ABC and
CNN would feed like wild dogs on their hated George Bush if he mentioned
any plan of becoming involved in Sudan.
THEREFORE: The Largest Boycott in History has some demands.
A. that each of
(1) GE-NBC-MS
[Microsoft] NBC/CNBC, (2) Viacom-CBS,
(3) Disney-ABC and (4)
Time Warner-CNN editorially – on a
continuing, not less than weekly basis on the evening news - call for
the U.S. administration involvement as suggested by New York Timesman
Nicholas Kristof.
B. The
Presiding Responsible Board Member supervise this matter.
C. That these editorials specify that the U.S. administration should not
be deterred by national media scare tactics.
D. That each of (1)
GE-NBC-MS [Microsoft] NBC/CNBC, (2)
Viacom-CBS,
(3) Disney-ABC
and (4) Time
Warner-CNN
editorially – on a continuing, not less than weekly basis on the evening
news - call for American
Black Leaders and others and perhaps Howard Stern and Robin Quiver to
lead the March Upcountry to the Killing Fields of the Genocide Against
Christians in Southern Sudan, and, to the second Genocide, in Darfur.

E. The Largest Boycott in History is charging each of
(1) GE-NBC-MS
[Microsoft] NBC/CNBC, (2) Viacom-CBS,
(3) Disney-ABC and (4)
Time Warner-CNN and (5) Microsoft
separately $1,000,000 a day beginning June 1, 2004 and rising by
$1,000,000 a day – that is, to $2,000,000 a day, then $3,000,000 a day –
at July 1 and August 1,
2004.
F. Unbeknown to the man,
unsolicited, unwanted, The Largest Boycott in History requires that
Nicholas D. Kristof be offered $1,000 a day by each of (1)
GE-NBC-MS
[Microsoft] NBC/CNBC, (2)
Viacom-CBS, (3)
Disney-ABC
and (4) Time
Warner-CNN
and (5) Microsoft until these demands have been met, in the viewpoint
solely of Largest Boycott.
The reason: to stir things up. To cause publicity. To exercise raw
power against angry and bitter men and institutions.
F. That each of (1)
GE-NBC-MS
[Microsoft] NBC/CNBC, (2)
Viacom-CBS, (3)
Disney-ABC
and (4) Time
Warner-CNN
and (5) Microsoft publicly inform their news staff and that they are to
do an encomia newsmagazine piece on the Nicholas D. Kristof thesis that
President George Hitler II Bush may well have saved hundreds of thousand
of Christians from death.
G. The Largest Boycott in History
requires that each of (1)
GE-NBC-MS [Microsoft] NBC/CNBC, (2)
Viacom-CBS,
(3) Disney-ABC
and (4) Time
Warner-CNN
and (5) Microsoft bonus each of their board members $2,000,000 for their
work on these matters, if a written record is submitted.
It is fair to say that we think that Nicholas Kristof is a really good
guy. It is also true that we think he would be even a better guy if he
had not left out the dreaded “C” word from his following sentence that
concludes his, in our view, Billion Dollar Column, May 29, 2004:
” As
for America, we have repeatedly failed to stand up to genocide, whether
of Armenians, Jews, Cambodians or Rwandans. Now we're letting it happen
again.”
Should have been inserted: “up to 2,000,000 murdered Christians in
Sudan, 250,000 murdered Christians in East Timor, more than 20,000,000
murdered Christians in the Soviet Union.”
Now, Mr. Kristof, here is how you type the deep horror word Christians
on the qwerty keyboard: First, drink a fifth Johnny Black. Then, press
Shift and press the third letter from the left side, bottom row… Then
down the hatch with a couple of ounces before proceeding to the ‘h’
letter…..
Mr. Kristof might also have seen fit to make his sentence read, “As for
America, we in the
national media have repeatedly failed to…”
Even the most panty-waist member of Congress has never stated any
objection to the national media covering the genocides against
Christians.
The major fault is in the national media and the common
Gothic fears and patronization of Protestants
and Catholics.
__________________________
Nicholas Kristof uses the word Genocide in regard to Sudan again on June
26, 2004.
"ALONG THE SUDAN-CHAD BORDER — The ongoing genocide in Darfur is
finally, fortunately, making us uncomfortable. At this rate, with only
250,000 more deaths it will achieve the gravitas of the Laci Peterson
case."
Every last reporter at CBS News, ABC News, NBC News, CNN read this
column - and agrees with it, trusts Kristof. Yet, the Gothic fears
of Christians, and deep deep, face-contorting hatred of Bush is more
important to these reporters than covering genocide against mere black
people.
Gentlemen board members, this Silence is going to cost you billions of
dollars. Nicholas Kristof writes billion dollar columns.
Think about it.
